That poem birthed an idea: a gathering place was needed to give local poets a forum for reading and hearing original poetry as well as provide a nourishing environment to encourage others in their writing.
Welcome, Poetry Revisited.

We would love to have you join our group of passionate poets whether you write your own poetry, simply read other poets works, or perhaps just prefer to listen to others read. Click here for meeting dates.

Our reading at the Brunswick Center at Shallotte (Senior Center) kicked off a new column in the Brunswick Senior Buzz Magazine entitled "Poet's Corner." The column solicits Shallotte senior center members to submit their original poetry for publishing consideration in the magazine and celebrates senior poets' works.

"Though the Window"

A poem beckons me
from outside
my window
And life is
Sweeter when
I follow
It's call.

We thought you might like to see a sampling of the kinds of events we've participated in. If your organization or group would like us to read at an event or help judge local poetry contests, please contact us at poets@poetryrevisited.org. We do not charge for our services, but rather view it as a priviledge to promote the art of poetry in our communities.
